Rochester’s “Introductions Network” - Where online meets offline!
Sir LinkedAlot, as a networking and LinkedIn™ evangelist, organizes and hosts Linked LIVE! events in Rochester, NY six times a year. These events take online networking offline for face-to-face meetings, professional networking and relationship building. It’s goal is to become an “introductions network” where introductions and “pay-it-forward” behavior thrive. At most networking events attendees merely show up and hoping that something good happens. The pay-it-forward network invests in sharing connections and making introductions. that are pre-arranged prior to the event. Promotion of these events is primarily by word of mouth and social media (LinkedIn™, Facebook™, Twitter™, etc.).
What Distinguishes these events?
- These events promote pre-arranged introductions. It’s not the same old, same old show up and hope to meet someone interesting and good to know.
- These events permit you to see the attendee list AND how you are connected to attendees you wish to meet. (Provided you are a LinkedIn™ member.)
- Using LinkedIn™ you can use your network to find those you would like to meet and ask your network to invite them to attend.
- The theme of the events is purely “pay-it-forward” where each event will have a event beneficiary, a local charity or non-profit. The charity collects all monies.
- Our event benefactors offer services and goods to share with attendees as “shared gifts” (door prizes) that are awarded via Chinese auction at the event.
- We aspire to be a network of networks promoting collaboration and the cross-referral of networks. Each event enables “honored guest” organizations tables to promote their offerings and recruit new members. The groups must have Rochester-wide appeal and benefit.
- We promote B2B collaboration enabling the discovery of synergies that promote economic development and the development of commerce.
- “Conversations” with local Subject Matter Experts on topics of social networks, social media and networking will be offered one hour PRIOR to networking.
- When the event is over, the conversation continues via a LinkedIn™ Group which permits discussions, news, job postings, sub-groups by field or industry and a member directory with member profiles. Attendees will be invited to join ROC LinkedAlot, the LinkedIn™ Group. You must have attended an event and remain active in participating in the network. Signing up and showing up score no points. Participate, Introduce Share and Pay-it-Forward. That’s the culture.

Our first event benefits Flower City Habitat for Humanity. Habitat will keep all the proceeds they collect for this event. You can pay online using their online PayPal arrangements, call Habitat (585-546-1470) to register for the event using your credit card or you can simply send them a check referencing Linked LIVE.
